Vogue Analysis

Vogue Analysis

The heading is in white on a grey background so it stands out and is more visible on the page and the other subheadings are also in white and therefore you can pick them out easier on the page. They are also bold a therefore your attention is drawn to them straight away. The main headings which are the lures and the reasons that you buy the magazine, in this case the lure is Beyoncé, are in black and red, so that they stand out among the other stories and headings. The photo of Beyoncé is the main focus of the cover and therefore it is a very large image that covers 70% of the page. On the main image Beyoncé looks very attractive and made up, she is obviously air brushed and this connotes to the genre of fashion as women want to aspire to look like the women in the photos. If Beyoncé looked unattractive and was wearing cheap clothing women would not be enticed to by the magazine because they would not aspire to look like her.
The story that is in large bold red writing is a story that connotes to the genre as it suggests it is about fashion. This is also a lure because it is an enigma, you are not aware of what the 'surprise' is so you are more encouraged to buy the magazine to find out. The first heading which is referring to Beyoncé as a queen shows that Vogue are obviously a fan of her and her music and because Vogue is so iconic and recognised, we automatically feel as though we should agree  with them because you trust that what they recommend and write about is of good quality.
The font used is modern and sleek, there is no wacky designs or anything out of the ordinary. It is very minimalistic and this reflects the genre. They use language features such as alliteration with, 'strong and sexy suits', this makes the cover and stories appear more appealing. because they sound catchy.
